Csongor and Tünde is one of the indispensable basic works of Hungarian literature – the questions raised in the story are the inevitable questions of human existence: what is the purpose and meaning of life, what is happiness, is there eternal life, and if there is, do you really want to live forever?
In the barren earthly Eden, one cannot find immortality by means of money, knowledge, and power; the fruit of the Golden Apple Tree of Life can be tasted only through "one love". Csongor, having his head in the clouds, is circulating around the tree – except for when he is actually asleep. In the concentric circles of his journey, he is guided, accompanied and haunted by 3 women in various forms: Tünde and Ilma, Gland and the Night, Devil’s sons and Árki, Humans and Marionette Puppets.
The far-reaching philosophy is conveyed by Vörösmarty, and the everyday truths are voiced by Noémi Vilmos and the 30Y - for those over fourteen years of age, by creating a life experience of optimal proportion and duration based on a piece of compulsory literature.
Venue of the performance: Kós Lajos Hall (stage) of Bóbita Puppet Theatre Lajos / Escargo Room Theatre
